Kan Do Services opened in 2024 to serve restaurants, schools, and commercial kitchens across central and northeast South Dakota. Kendall & Nicole run the operation — they schedule the work, handle the site visits, and manage the crew. Before starting Kan Do, Kendall worked in the medical field and Nicole worked in the restaurant industry. They saw firsthand how often exhaust systems were neglected or cleaned improperly. They started the business to do it right: NFPA 96 compliant cleaning with real documentation, scheduled around your operation so you're not shut down during service hours.
The work is straightforward but detail-intensive. We pressure wash the hood canopy, plenum, accessible ductwork, and rooftop exhaust fan. We hand-scrape heavy grease buildup before we wash, and we contain all the runoff — nothing caustic goes down your drains. At the end of every job, you get before and after photos, a written service report, and a compliance sticker for the hood. That's what the fire marshal wants to see, and it's what your insurance carrier asks for if there's ever a claim.
We work with the restaurants schedule so you don't have down time in your kitchen. Most jobs take 2 to 4 hours for a standard single-hood system; larger kitchens or heavily soiled systems take longer. If you're not sure when your last cleaning was or what your NFPA 96 interval should be, we'll assess your operation during the first visit and recommend a schedule. If the fire marshal has red-tagged your hood, we offer emergency service and can usually get to you within 24 hours.
Kan Do Services covers central and northeast South Dakota and travels up to 150-200 miles. If you're farther out, we'll let you know if there's a travel charge when you call for a quote.
